Naftogaz pays Gazprom for gas supplied in January


Ukraine's state gas company Naftogaz has paid Russia's gas giant Gazprom for gas supplied to the country in January 2010, UKRINFORM reported.

The Ukrainian company's press service reported that Naftogaz had already received a bank confirmation that the funds were transferred to Gazprom.
The amount of Russian gas imported to Ukraine in January totaled 2.55 billion cubic meters.

Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Yuriy Prodan said that the cost of gas imported in January had totaled around USD 780 million.

The gas price in January-March 2010 is USD 305.2 per 1,000 cubic meters.
Ukraine is planning to import 27 billion cubic meters of gas in 2010.
