Tymoshenko: Aviation branch has every chance to come out of the crisis stronger

The Government of Ukraine spares no effort to boost aviation branch in the period of crisis. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko announced on Monday during a meeting with labour collective of the Aviant Kyiv State Aircraft Plant, Government portal reported.

“Ukraine has every chance to come out of the crisis stronger, including the aviation branch,” Yulia Tymoshenko declared.

The Premier reminded the Government had increased the statutory capital of the Kyiv aviation plant by UAH 30 bn and added April would see the next increase.

Besides, Yulia Tymoshenko imparted the Government would further facilitate paying off debt of the plant to the banks which amounts UAH 500 mn. According to her, under agreement with the banks returning of this debt will be made gradually: “We will allow payment by installments so that it doesn’t hamper proper functioning of the plant”.

Yulia Tymoshenko also said the Government is making all the best to ensure the plant to receive 200-UAH 250 mn for production of aircrafts. As the PM explained, these funds will be drawn from the Stabilization fund, through lax long-term credits or in the shape of up-front payment from customers. “We will improve vigorously the aviation branch in Ukraine. We will never disregard the plant and the branch itself,” the Head of Government urged.

Furthermore, Yulia Tymoshenko accentuated owing to involvement of the Government the plant had paid arrears of wages to the employees: “We are facing the crisis today, but there exist no arrears of salaries, benefits and pensions”.

At this, the Prime Minister added current incomes to the State Budget and the Pension Fund are being overfulfilled, which makes impossible future arrears of wages.
