Tymoshenko says hryvnia is deliberately being pinned down

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko states yet again that the hryvnia rate regarding US dollar “is being ruined artificially” by certain political forces in order to introduce state of emergency in the country. She said opening a Cabinet’s session on Wednesday.

The premier underlined that the government cannot influence the banking system of Ukraine and added that “the hryvnia rate regarding US dollar is deliberately being pinned down.”

Tymoshenko expressed assurance that there are no grounds for such high rate. She pointed out that the policy, being carried out by the National bank, is an attempt of certain political forces to destabilize the situation in Ukraine and “to make any elections impossible to hold and to introduce state of emergency in the country.”
