Tymoshenko to reveal the secret of gas contracts to Europe

Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko addressed ambassadors of European countries with a request to analyze whether the Ukrainian-Russian gas contracts are impatial.

“It is needed to check whether the formula of gas and transit prices corresponds to the European one,” she said at the meeting with ambassadors of Big Eight on Wednesday.

She noted that gas documents had become a subject of “high political discussions” in Ukraine.

“I’d like to address, first of all, the European Union, which is a gas consumer, in order to attract experts for the analysis of the gas contracts to make sure that they are as transparent as in the European countries,” Tymoshenko said.

The Premier also informed that she discussed the same subject with EC president Jose Barroso at the Munich summit.
