Government to control payments of wages and pensions

The Government continues the work on analyzing social payments in the budget sphere. Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko said at the session of the Cabinet.

Tymoshenko reminded that a special conference call was held on this issue, on which the local heads had been commissioned to check up the timeliness of wage and pension payments to budget employees in every region.

The Head of Government noted that “hot lines” for citizens’ appeals on untimely paying of wages and pensions are launched in the Ministry of Labour and Social Policy and in every region of the country. The Prime Minister added, the Minister of Labour and Social Policy would report about the work of these telephone lines today.

The Prime Minister stressed that Government had already responded to the proposals of regions and allocated additional subsidies for local budgets. At that, Yulia Tymoshenko stated that Government would keep with responding “to the day” to signals coming from the regions concerning backpay of social payments.
