Tymoshenko: Government guarantees to pay timely wages and pensions

Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko states that government guarantees timely payment of wages to the budget employees and pensions. The premier said during a selector meeting with heads of regional state administrations.

Yulia Tymoshenko said that violation of pension and wage payments to the budget employees in separate towns and regions is groundless as local and central budgets have full financing.

The Head of Government reminded that relevant data about non-payment of wages had come from the town of Brianka of the Luhansk region and from the Lviv region. According to her, to prevent such situations in the future, this question will be taken under control from now on, “I want us to be well-informed: where and how the budget employees are not paid, if there are such cases, the regional budgets, Finance Ministry must respond at once to eliminate such cases”.

Yulia Tymoshenko said that the situation with wages payment of the economic subjects, including private form of property would be also controlled. “The state can’t leave the people alone at such hard time,” she stressed.

At the same time the PM noted that all pensions for January 2009 are paid off. “The Pension Fund receives incomes so there are no reasons to think that some small instability in this sector, connected with the global financial crisis, will appear,” Yulia Tymoshenko emphasized.
