Naftogas can become bankrupt in August?

Ex-head of Naftogas Yevhen Bakulin evaluates the total debt of NAK Naftogas Ukraine to Russian Gasprom at USD 2.5 billions. He said in his comments to Segodnya.

“This sum includes USD 1.2 billion for gas the Government took at Ukrgasenergo (a subsidiary enterprise Rosukrenergo) without payment in December-January 2007-2008,”explained Bakulin.

“Another USD 500 million must be paid by August 20 this year according to the agreement between Gasprom and Naftogas. The agreement was concluded in January this year at the price 321 US dollars for 1000m³, plus the debt at USD 800 million to Rosukrenergo for the gas supplied in June. As a result of dept, Naftogas can become bankrupt in August,” said Naftogas ex-head.
