Ukraine agreed to buy Russian gas at USD 321?

Ukraine agreed that the price of the Russian gas consumed in January-February 2008 will comprise USD 321 for thousand cubic meters, ForUm reports referring to information published today in ”Kommersant-Ukraine” daily.

According to “Kommersant”, it has at the disposal agreement, signed on March 6 by Naftogaz Ukraine deputy CEO Ihor Didenko, RosUkrEnergo chief executives Dmitriy Glebko and a member of Gazprom Konstantin Chuychenko. According to this agreement, Naftogaz buys Russian gas, supplied in January-February 2008, from RosUkrEnergo at USD 321 for thousand cubic meters.

At the same time, representative of Naftogaz Valentyn Zemlyanskyi told journalists that he does not know anything about this agreement. “Official negotiations between Naftogaz and Gazprom will take place on March 12. No contracts can be regarded as official before this date,” he said.
