Turchynov: Ukraine paid off debts for gas

For today Ukraine has no debts to gas mediators. First vice PM Olexander Turchynov said today at the Cabinet session, the ForUm’s correspondent informs.

“Those debts we inherited for 2006-2007 are paid off,” Turchynov said.

Turchynov demonstrated order of money transfer to “UkrGazEnergo”. Turchynov hopes these funds will be transferred to accounts of “Gazprom”.

“In any way, debt in amount of 5.2 milliard is paid off. But at the same time Ukraine does not admit 414 million from this sum which were calculated for gas supplied in 2006 at prices of 2007. Corresponding documents are in court and we hope judicial power will put an end to this issue,” he said.
