President sends letter to PM

Victor Yushchenko has sent a letter to Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych with an urgent request to resolve the developing VAT rebate crisis, President’s press office informed.

The President suggests that the Premier and his government:

- immediately formulate proposals aimedat makingtax payers more responsible and law-abiding, and send their suggestions to the National Security and Defense Council;

- propose a bill based on last year’s presidential decree to prevent and minimizenational security threats caused by the country's imperfect VAT rebate legislation;

- find out whodeveloped and introduced these ineffective VAT rebate rules and criteria.
