Rada failed to appoint Ohryzko

People’s deputies have not support the candidature of Volodymyr Ohryzko for the post of Foreign Minister of Ukraine, ForUm’s correspondent reports. Only 195 out of 226 necessary voted were given.

Party of Regions gave 0 votes, BYuT supported by 115 votes, Our Ukraine – 77 votes, SPU – 1 vote, CPU – 0 and non-faction deputies – 2.

Speaking to the deputies the candidate noted: “Everybody understands that the matter does not concern candidature of Ohryzko and my professional qualities. 28 years in the system of the Foreign Ministry are a little bit more than some ministers, supported by the parliament, have.”

He underlined that he did not abandon his political convictions, but “worked, work and will work in accordance to the law.”

Calling the deputies to support his candidature, Ohryzko reminded that the question is not only about him as a candidate, but about international image of Ukraine.
