General Office of Public Prosecutor stopped legal proceedings on Kravchenko’s case

On January 31, 2007 the General Office of Public Prosecutor of Ukraine dismissed a case concerning suicide of the ex-Interior Minister of Ukraine Yury Kravchenko. The General prosecutor of Ukraine Olexander Medvedko told today at the press conference in Kyiv.

According to him, all necessary investigations and correspondent examinations gave ground that there is no event of crime in case, that’s why the case should be dismissed.

As a reminder, Kravchenko was found dead by gunshot wound at his cottage house in the morning on March 4, 2005. For that morning he should appear to General Office of Public prosecutor for interrogation concerning investigation of Gongadze case.

On May 24, 2005 General Office of Public Prosecutor made a conclusion that suicide is the final reason of Kravchenko’s death.

At the time, on June 21, 2006 Medvedko informed that General Office of Public prosecutor renewed investigations on criminal case on Kravchenko’s death.
