The Defense Ministry of Ukraine will cooperate with Latvians


The Defense Ministry of Ukraine and the Defense Ministry of Latvian Republic plan to sign the Plan of bilateral cooperation for 2007.

According to the Department of press service of the Defense Ministry, the document is planned to be signed in the scope of the visit of Latvian delegation to Ukraine, headed by the State Secretary of the Defense ministry of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics.

The Head of the Latvian military delegation today will pay a courtesy visit to the Defense Minister of Ukraine Anatoly Hrytsenko.

Moreover, the meeting between the State Secretary of the Defense Ministry of Latvia Edgars Rinkevics and the deputy Defense Minister of Ukraine Mykola Neshchadym and negotiation between the delegations of two countries are planned for today.

In the scope of the negotiations, the parties plan to discuss condition and prospective directions of cooperation between military departments of two countries, questions on European and regional security, condition of cooperation of Ukraine-NATO and results of Riga’s summit of Alliance, modern development and reforming of Armed Forces of Ukraine and Latvia.

As a result of negotiation, the parties should sign the Plan of bilateral cooperation between the Defense Ministries of Ukraine and Latvia for 2007.
