Ukraine faces unemployment


As of January 1, 2007, the State Job Service has registered 800,000 Ukrainians, seeking job, the State Statistics Committee's press service told.

The highest unemployment level was registered in the Ternopil region (5.3%), and the lowest one in Kyiv (0.4%).

In December 2006, the Government decided to allocate 138.4 mln UAH to support unemployed Ukrainians. The relief was distributed among 550,500 Ukrainians, 251 UAH for each.
