The First UN “Treasure Hunt” in Kyiv


On Sunday 19th March in the streets of Kiev are expected to be thousands of people running looking for the UN Treasure. The aim of the initiative is to organize an event in Kyiv that gathers together Kiev citizens of all ages, UNVs, UN Agencies, NGOs, volunteer associations, youth groups. The participants of the event will interact and be involved in a game, which will highlight and examine the concept of Volunteerism and the great impact of Volunteerism on the achievement of MDGs and in particular, on the one related with fight against HIV/AIDS.

This will be a large-scaleinitiative involvingaround 4000 participants (1000 teams) with an additional 1000 people to be indirectly involved in the implementation of the game. As women affected by HIV/AIDS are an especially vulnerable group, the event will seek to highlight their unique issues and needs. Women’s participation in the Event will be encouraged.

The game will be followed up by a party in Kyiv Mohyla Academy, with well know djs and special guests. The first 300 teams will be allowed to enter without any charge inside the party’s place. During the party there will be the privy-giving of awards and prizes.

The event is sponsored in the entire city and there are 12 registration points. The cost for each team (4 players) is 25 UAH and all the teams at the moment of registration will receive some gadgets and all the information for the game.
