Tina Karol to represent Ukraine at 2006 Eurovision Song Contest

Tina Karol will represent Ukraine at the 2006 Eurovision Song Contest in Greece. She has won the TV talent show Ty-Zirka (You are the star) with the song “I am Your Queen.”

After several weeks of shows featuring newscomers recruited from auditions across Ukraine, there remained just three singers in the running during the live show on Saturday evening – Kyryl Turynenko, Iryna Rosenfeld and Tina Karol. After each had performed a song, the phone lines were opened for twenty minutes and viewers invited to vote for the song they wanted to send to Greece, Dot Eurovision reported.

Alongside the phone vote, a jury of five music experts awarded points. Tina Karol won both the jury and phone voters.
