The EC Commission to visit Ukraine

The European Expert Commission plans to visit Ukraine in the nearest future. The agreement on it was reached during the negotiations between Ukraine Energy Minister Plachkov and Benita Ferrero-Waldner the European Commissioner in charge of External Relations and European Neighbourhood Policy.

As a reminder, March 2, the sides discussed the bilateral cooperation within the EU-Ukraine energy sphere. Ms.Ferrero-Waldner hailed the Ukraine-Russia gas settlement. “We know how difficult it was,” stated Ms. Ferrero-Waldner. The bitter dispute between Ukraine and Russia awoke all Europe, she added.

The Eurocommissioner proposed European assistance in expert examination of the gas agreement formula.
