"Our Ukraine" election bloc against Ukraine's involvment in South Osetia conflict

In the interview to Russian mass media, Mikhail Pozhivanov, the member of ‘Our Ukraine’ election bloc, stated that the Parliament would not vote for assignment of Ukrainian peacekeeping troops to South Ossetia.

“I do not think that Ukrainian peacekeepers will be assigned to any conflict zone within the frameworks of bilateral agreement. It’s quite another matter if it happens within the frameworks of cooperation with the UN and other participation will be grounded,” MP stated.

According to him, Ukraine will not interfere in the conflict between Georgia and Russia, Prime News informed.

He also noted that it is unlikely that Ukraine will participate in the conflict not with standing friendly relations between Georgian and Ukrainian presidents.
