“Yushchenko is afraid of impeachment”

The members of the VR temporary investigation committee on Naftogaz financial activity sabotage the sessions of the committee, Yuliy Joffe the Head of the committee told.

The last session of the committee he addressed the General Office of Public Prosecutor to institute the criminal case against Naftogaz President Oleksiy Ivchenko in accordance with article 351 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. After that Ivchenko pledged to let the committee check the documents concerning Russian and Turkmen gas supplies to Ukraine and also some internal Naftogaz documents.

According to data, Naftogaz Ukrainy fired 973 officials.

In Joffe’s opinion, the sabotage was caused by President’s veto on the Law on Temporary Investigation Committees passed by the parliament.

“Yushchenko’s motives are quite understandable – he is afraid of impeachment because the procedure of impeachment is impossible without this law,” said Ioffe.
