Piskun will visit the USA together with Yushchenko

Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger, the member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on the murder of Georgiy Gongadze is currently in Kiev on a fact-finding visit.

She underlines expediency of a prompt testifying of the ex-major of state security Nickolay Melnichenko directly in the USA and conducting expert examination of his records there, UNIAN informs.

The member of PACE has also reported that General Prosecutor of Ukraine Svyatoslav Piskun will accompany the president Victor Yushchenko during his visit to the USA. Piskun intends to testify Melnichenko there and also to secure transference of records and recording equipment for expert examination.

Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger has pointed out that she wants expert examination be conducted in the USA to avoid danger of records destroying.
