Yanukovich supports canonical Ukrainian Christian Orthodox Church

The former Prime Minister of Ukraine Victor Yanukovich declared about intention to support the canonical Christian Orthodox Church of Ukraine.

"Party of regions of Ukraine (headed by Victor Yanukovich) made decision to support traditional Orthodox Church", - the ex-premier declared on Wednesday before opening of the World Russian public council in Christ temple in Moscow, in work of which he took part.

Yanukovich confirmed also, that his party intended to labour for introduction of "Bases of orthodox culture" in Ukrainian schools.

Besides, he declared about impermissibility of state intervention in Church business. "People, not officials, should decide which church attend", - Yanukovich underlined.
