UKRAINE: YANUKOVYCH PRO EU?LETTER-TO-THE EDITOR: By Stephen Velychenko Sent to the London TELEGRAPH in response to Mr. Yanukovych's article,"I Support a pro-Western Course"

the party can offer people fearing poverty and insecurity short-term material
incentives in return for votes. [3] Third they are based on a lingering soviet-style cradle to grave How strong the party would be in Ukraine's east, without the dirty-tricks, The party ostensibly supports Ukrainian independence in as much as its Yet, its anti-constitutional advocacy of Russian as a "second language" for

Its leaders, additionally, engage in symbolic colonial-homage type acts that pander to imperial Russian nostalgia and compromise Ukraine's status as independent country. In November 2005 in Krasnoiarsk, for example, Ianukovych publicly gave Party of Region leaders learned their politics under the soviet regime and since then failed to learn any other kind. That was a totally unnecessary slam against the Orthodox Church. First of all, the spiritual home of Orthodoxy is in Constantinople, not in Moscow. As for the fact that Moscow Patriarchy is part of the Orthodox 'organization' so what....Rome is part of the Catholic hiearchy too. Orthodoxy is not centrally organized, and some churchs are part of the Kiev Patriarchy, and still others out of Greece. This is all voluntariy, and this little attack on religion is absurd, out of place, and shows really what the Orange people are about....religious persecution, misinformation, and attacks on ethnic minorites. The author failed to mention that many ethnic Ukrainians speak Russian, and speaking language is a personal choice. Attacking them as if they are not real Ukrainians...he spoke of Russian and Ukrainians...that is divisive and rude. All Ukrainians citizens are Ukrainians. Period. No more prejudice. No excuxes.

some information: 'The Orthodox Church today, numbering over 250 million worldwide, is a communion of self governing Churches, each administratively independent of the other, but united by a common faith and spirituality. Their underlying unity is based on identity of doctrines, sacramental life and worship, which distinguishes Orthodox Christianity. All recognize the spiritual preeminence of the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople who is acknowledged as primus inter pares, first among equals. All share full communion with one another.'
--the Orthodox chuch is not organized like a business. The churches are just independently organizined but in communion with each other at the same time. As a member of the Greek Orthodox church, I can tell you the Kiev and Moscow Patriarch's have my full admiration, respect, and support.

Great, Stephen! You hit the nail right on the head. The arguments are irrevocable, well pointed out proves and documents.

I love to watch people squirm when they can't handle the truth. They become so animalistic and start foaming at the mouth. Bunch of losers. Yes! Good going Stephen.
Borys (01:30 | 04 October,2007)
Great work Stephen, you certainly did your homework. What brilliant research. Boy, O' boy did you get the commo apologists foaming and frothing at the mouth with your article. It's recognised world wide that the truth written by the pen is mightier than the sword AND that those that live by the sword shall die by the sword!
Borys (01:34 | 04 October,2007)
Also, it's always important to remember the commo doctrine of DO AS I SAY AND NOT AS I DO! So aptly used and abused by Ianukovych.

ProEurope, proRussia proUkraine. they are not exclusive. If Ukraine wants to join the EU then should it not model itself on European States? Ukraine should adopt a full parliamentary democracy based on European standards. Every EU country (Except Cyprus is a Parliamentary democracy. ............................................. A forum set up in response to the obvious bias moderation imposed by the Tom, Peter ad Gene show. Hey gus you should just setup google talk or ICQ and talk to yourselves. lol lol (Who can forget the shameful way in which Tommy Mendez harassed Angela and then had her baned for responding to teh abuse she was subjected to. Every person who expresses an opposing political point of view to Tomass and co is banned. Why is that? Why was Green Tea banned? because he did not share Tom's point of view.

According to Mr. Stephen Velychenko, the Party of Regions is: "a restorationist party that seeks to prevent the democratization of a de facto "post-colonial" state, and to keep it subordinated to its former ruler [Moscow]." All Ukrainian citizens who desire a free and independent Ukraine are now working TOGETHER to fight Moscow's fifth column in Ukraine. President Yushchenko, with scars on his face, says the same. Mr. Velychenko is absolutely right in the article about Moscow's Party of Regions. It's a political divider. Moscow's classic divide and conquer technique is not working this time. Ukrainian citizens know better. Ukraine is a sovereign state and is unifying ALL its national interests. Kyiv is becoming the main center of trade in the region again - restoring, through citizen's Rights and Freedoms, its historical leadership in this sphere. Hetman Yushchenko knows this - as do the good and free citizens of Ukraine. Merry Christmas Ukraine!!!
