Last Saturday Kyiv hosted “Man of the Year 2009” ceremony held in National palace “Ukraine”. The ceremony was held in both Ukrainian and Russian languages by two famous couples of presenters – Olga Sumska and Yuri Gorbunov and Ruslana Pysanka and Masha Yefrosinina. Ruslana Pysanka (left) and Masha Yefrosinina The title of “Sportsman of the year” was given to the 2009 box world champion Vasyl Lomachenko, and the title of “Philanthropist of the year” was awarded to the head of the International fund “United world” Eduard Prutnik. “I was actually surprised that the Fund was even nominated, as our actions and ideas are not directed at the award receiving. In fact, it is the award of us all, because every drop is important in big ocean,” Prutnik told ForUm.  Eduard Prutnik In addition, chairman of Chernihiv regional council Natalia Romanova was awarded as “Regional leader of the year.” Director General of “Turboatom” Viktor Subbotin was named “Industrialist of the year.” Head of “VTB Bank” Vadym Pushkaryov has become “Financier of the year.” Trade mark “Konti” has been recognized as “National trade mark of the year”. The work of LTD “Nibulon” (Mykolayiv) has become “The best investment project of the year”.  As for media, presenter of “1+1” TV channel Natalia Mosyichuk was awarded as journalist of the year, and “Glavred” was named “Magazine of the year”. Ukrainian pianist Evgenia Basalayeva has won the nomination “Art representative” and Kateryna Shakhovskaya (Stella Shakhovskaya Fashion House) was recognized as the best designer of the year. People’s deputy Iryna Berezhnaya was awarded with “New generation of the year” award.  Iryna Berezhnaya Some special awards were also given to foreign diplomats – Chinese ambassador to Ukraine Chjo Li and Belarusian ambassador to Ukraine Valentyn Velichko Among Ukrainians, awarded with special awards, singer Jamala was awarded with “Ukrainian idol” title.
